We have a smorgasbord of racing this weekend along with new regular shows. F1 returns after summer break to Belgium, so everyone can continue the first half season story which last left off in Hungary. That was an exciting race, one of the most unpredictable of the year, and the notables were plentiful. Kimi had car problems that kept him off the podium. Ferrari showed they have true pace and took a genuine win, with Vettel taking the checkered flag. Red Bull Racing took 2nd and 3rd, showing they appear to have gotten the pace addressed, at least enough to be competitive on downforce heavy technical tracks like the Hungaroring. Hams launch (and Rosbergs for that matter) was slower than Ferraris' and mixing it up ended up costing Hamilton quite a bit early; despite a roller-coaster of events he stuck with it and ended up finishing 6th. While Rosberg got ahead of Hams early, during his late-race dicing with Ricciardo his rear tire was cut, but removed his chances of getting ahead of Hams in the Driver's Championship (8th). McLaren had it's best outing of the entire season, Alonso finishing 5th and Button finishing in 9th; they had some decent pace and Alonso was mixing it up like old times. After the smoke cleared, the standing are as follows: Hamilton, Rosberg (-21), Vettel (-42), Bottas (-125), Raikkonen (-126). This weekend at Spa should be another strong track for folks with well dialed-in aero.
