RUF CTR...Yellowbird. ~500hp +/- 40hp depending on the selected boost settings of it's 3.4 litre twin turbo flat six, under 2600 lbs, strengthened yet lightened chassis, custom 5 speed transmission, 211 mph, 0-60mph in under 4 ticks, quarter mile in the 11s, 17" RUF 5 spoke alloys...and this was 1987. This was literally the most outrageous thing on the street for about a decade, arguably only surpassed by the RUF CTR2 with Porsche's production of the 993. Of course, both the legendary Porsche 959 and Ferrari F40 were competing for the crown around the same time in the late 80s, but the original RUF Yellowbird delivered the same crazy performance numbers (211mph outpaced both of the above) without the purpose built race spec chassis, carbon fiber body and 8-digit Corporation backed R&D. If you don't know of this grandfather of hypercars, research it once you're done viewing this post.
